All Nations Cup
An integral part of the club since 1982 is the spring/summer competition named “All Nations Cup”. This competition brings together teams comprising of players representing their country of birth or their parents’ origin. The format is based on the World Cup with round robin matches being played to determine the eight teams to qualify for the knockout phase of the competition. In recent years there has been the introduction of the Shield competition played between those knocked out.
The early days of the competition were such a success that large corporate sponsors and soccer identities were associated with the All Nations Cup. In 1984 the success of the competition enabled the final to be played at Olympic Park. It returned to Egan Lee Reserve the following year where it has continued to be played annually since. Except for 1988 and 1989 it was held successfully ever year, until the recent Covid pandemic prevented the 2020 competition from running.
